Take Your Job Shop To The Next Level With QuickTECH Mill/Turn Centers
Absolute Machine Tools was proud to re-introduce QuickTECH in our machine lineup at the recent PMTS show. The i-60 Ultimate 10-axis twin spindle lathe with dual B-axes was a hit at the show, and we know the rest of our QuickTECH machines will be too!
I-42 and i-60 Ultimate
If you missed us at PMTS, it’s not too late to learn more about QuickTECH’s i-42 and i-60 Ultimate twin spindle CNC machine tools. These compact, high precision, high production CNC mill/turn centers feature unique bar processing capabilities and complete parts machining, including all complex milling functions. There are several features that set the Ultimate apart from other machines in its class, including: The visual indicators on the machine’s door that allow the operator to quickly and easily tell what function is currently running; and the machines’ standard 49 total tools (with 56 optional) and 2 full 360° B axis on the main and sub spindles.
While most twin turret machines have 24 tools and no B axis, these machines are equipped with 10 axes, 2 turning spindles, 2 milling spindles with full 360° B axes, and 2 tool posts totaling 49 tools (56 optional). Each spindle is served by a 4 axis gang tooling system consisting of X, Y and Z linear axes and full 360° B axes. The main spindle tool post features 6 O.D. and 5 I.D. turning tools plus 12 live tools mounted in a continuous 360° B axis. The sub spindle tool post features 5 O.D. and 9 I.D. turning tools plus 12 live tools which are mounted in a continuous 360° B axis. QuickTECH’s Ultimate machines are offered in 42mm and 60mm bar capacities. The sub-spindle has 30mm bar capacity on both models.
More From QuickTECH
In addition to the Ultimate, the following QuickTECH machines are ready and waiting to take your job shop to the next level:
i-42 and i-60 ROBO: These compact high production CNC mill/turn centers feature an integrated 6 axis high speed Mitsubishi S series robot that can load, unload and turn parts over automatically. Positioned perfectly so it will not interfere with the operator, the robot can handle parts weighing up to 13 lbs. and uses an optional multi-tray pallet handling system for unattended automated operations. The ROBO is equipped with 4 axes (5 optional), 1 turning spindle, 1 milling spindle and 17 total tools. The main tool post features 6 O.D. and 5 I.D. turning tools, 3 radial and 3 axial live tool heads. By adding the optional B axis, total tooling capacity rises to 23 with 12 live tools. The standard unique 3 axis (4 optional) gang type vertical tool post serves the main spindle. QuickTECH’s ROBO machines are offered in 42mm and 60mm bar capacities.
i-42 Twin and i-60 Twin: These twin spindle CNC mill/turn centers are unique bar processing machines that provide complete parts machining, including all complex milling functions. The machines feature 7 total axes, 2 turning spindles, 1 milling spindle, and a 360° B axis serving both twin spindles. The machine distinguishes itself from other small lathes with a tool post featuring 9 O.D. turning tools, 9 I.D. turning tools and 12 live tools mounted on the B axis. A 4 axis (X, Y, Z and B) gang type vertical tool post is shared between each C axis spindle. The main spindle has 42 mm (i-42) or 60mm (i-60) bar capacity and the sub-spindle has 30mm bar capacity on both models.
i-42 and i-60 Eco: These compact high production CNC mill/turn centers offer mass production capabilities in a cost-effective design, providing single operations parts machining with all complex milling functions. The Eco’s i-42 and i-60 models are equipped with 4 axes (5 optional with B axis), 1 turning spindle and a tailstock. Equipped with a unique single 3 axis (4 optional) gang type vertical tool post system consisting of X, Y, and Z axes, the main spindle tool post features 6 O.D. and 5 I.D. turning tools and 6 live tools (12 with optional B axis). The standard live tools are 3 axial and 3 radial. With the optional continuous 360° B axis, total live tools increase to 12.
T8 HYBRID: This 9 axis twin spindle CNC mill/turn center comes standard with 2 turning spindles, 2 live milling spindles, B axis, and a minimum capacity of 38 tools. Its Flexible Duo System allows 2 programs to run simultaneously, saving up to 45% cycle time. The main spindle employs a 3 axis BMT power turret equipped with 12 fixed and live tooling stations, 65mm bar capacity, and 80mm of true linear Y axis travel. The T8 HYBRID’s sub-spindle features a 4 axis gang slide employing 26 tools (5 external, 9 internal and 12 live tools), 32mm bar capacity, and an impressive full flexible 360° B axis.
S32 ATM: This compact CNC mill/turn center was made specifically for small complex parts, featuring 9 axes, 2 turning spindles, B-axis milling spindle and a 24 tool arm-type automatic tool changer. The sub-spindle is equipped with 6 gang type fixed turning tools giving this machine a total of 30 tools. The sub-spindle moves in X, Y and Z and has the ability to move in the X axis above and below the centerline, moving out of the way of the B axis milling spindle so it has full tilting capabilities and greatly reducing physical machine size. The S32 ATM’s B axis has a working range of 190° (± 95° from vertical). The HSK-40T milling spindle provides 10,000 RPM. Front end (main spindle) and backend (sub-spindle) simultaneous cutting maximizes productivity in small parts turning and angular milling in a cost-effective compact design.
