Johnford Turning Centers
The Johnford Product line is considered a heavy duty CNC horizontal turning center manufacturer. Although Johnford produces a small job shop turning center with a 2โ bar capacity and 8โ chuck, they are primarily recognized as a leader in LARGE heavy duty BOX WAY turning centers.
Johnford lathes offer a standard 2 axis 45 degree slant bed box way, Meehanite cast iron machine for general job shop applications and can be equipped with live tools, Y axis and sub-spindle, but can offer so much more.
The SL Series 45 degree slant bed turning centers range from a 3โ bar capacity and 22.8โ swing with 28โ centers to a 6.49โ bar capacity and 27.5โ swing with 124โ between centers.
The Johnford (Super Turn) ST Series 60 degree slant bed turning centers starts at a 4โ bar capacity and 31.5โ swing with 40โ centers up to a massive 12โ through hole and 47.2โ swing with 316โ between centers.
Johnford also manufacturers a Super Heavy Duty flat bed lathe models. Johnford flat bed turning centers can swing over 100โ diameter part, over 200โ in length, and weigh an impressive 165,000 pounds.
