The Tongtai MT Series has twin spindles and two individual machining areas. The turrets and spindles are designed parallel to each other. This design makes parts which need two processes be finished on one machine. With the addition of a gantry-type robot, utilization of floor space increases while labor costs decrease. Depending on cycle time, single robot arm/single stocker and twin robot arms/twin stockers for high production chucking work are both available on the MS/MT series CNC lathes. These lathes come equipped with either 6” or 8” chucks on spindles that rotate at 6,000/4,500 RPMs respectively. The MT control offers a robot teaching function that the operator can adjust positioning. The function coordinates the robot arm, on-screen positioning diagram, input coordinates, number and names of positions, 3 axes settings and single axis settings.
The Tongtai TNL series is state-of-the-art, high precision CNC lathe cast from Meehanite iron. The TNL series is loaded with high tech features not found on any comparable machines. This machine features the time-proven, rigid, and super accurate vertical bed design for excellent chip flow and operator accessibility. The vertical bed also simplifies the programming of the optional Y axis as the Y axis is perpendicular to the X axis like a vertical machining center. High power spindles provide superior acceleration and deceleration times and the standard 12 station BMT-60 turret is servo driven, all of which add productivity and reduce cycle times.
The Tongtai HS-22 and Q-5 CNC machine tools are extraordinarily fast. The HS-22 has a 30˚ one-piece slant bed ensuring precision and thermal stability. It is equipped with an optional automatic part loading/unloading system. The HS-22 is unique in that it functions from the end of the machine rather than a gantry system that operates from the top of the machine. This machine comes optional with either an automatic parts loading/unloading device that has a swap time of only 4.8 seconds or a 14-pallet work stocker that enables unattended machining. The Q-5 is a CNC gang-type lathe that is compact, simple and engineered specifically for fast production of small parts. It is equipped with a 6,000 RPM spindle with rapids of 1,181 IPM. Optional automation systems further assist to increase the machine’s productivity. A simple, easy-to-operate solution combines a bar feeder, parts catcher, and part conveyor. For longer term with higher volume automated production an 8-pallet or 2-pallet gantry loader type parts stocker is available.
