Absolute Works With LCCC for Automation, Robotics Training
Absolute Machine Tools is proud to have helped design the curriculum for Lorain County Community College’s Bachelor of Applied Science in Smart Industrial Automated Systems Engineering Technology. The program launched this fall and aims to meet demand for a generation of workers who understand the disruptive technologies that are shaping advanced manufacturing in Northeast Ohio.
David Zunis, Absolute Machine Tools’ Director of Service & Applications Engineering, represented our company among a host of other local employers in working with LCCC on the new program.
“We rely on LCCC to bring our workforce up to speed with the skillsets that we need in today’s manufacturing world,” Zunis said. “You need good math skills, good cognitive abilities. You have to understand data.”
Our own Emily Graven, 19, is among the first students of the program. She is an automation engineer at Absolute who began as an intern here while attending the Lorain County JVS.
“I have learned a lot at work, but the college has opportunities to teach me new things that I can bring back to the job,” Graven said.
