About the LoadMate Plus™
The Loadmate Plus™ was a joint project between MEA and Absolute Machine Tools that was designed and built to fill the gap between collaborative robots and industrial robot automation cells. This compact, heavy-duty portable robotic cell is capable of handling payloads of up to 20 kg with reaches up to 1,388 mm. The Loadmate offers one-step CNC machine integration using MEA’s Direct Robot Control function. This process will be demonstrated live during the Automate Show using a Seiki KT-420L CNC drill/tap center from Absolute Machine Tools.
This plug and play robotic cell can load, unload and palletize parts in any low-to-high volume application. It offers the high strength of industrial robots in a safe, contained cell. Several Mitsubishi vertical robot models have been tested and proven within the cell’s enclosure, including all RV07, RV-8, RV-13 and RV-20 series. Thanks to the Loadmate’s portability, it’s possible to easily add an automation function to a range of CNC applications. This results in increased throughput and valuable time savings.
About the Seiki KT-420L CNC Drill/Tap Center
The Seiki KT-420L machine is available standard with Mitsubishi M80A control with dedicated CNC CPU. This allows for rapid processing speeds and assures seamless integration with the LoadMate Plus cell. The KT-420L features a moving column/fixed table design with rotary pallet changer. It has a built-in rotary-type APC unit that is located at the front of the machine, which allows for easy access. The machine exchanges fixed tables in 4.5 seconds using a hydraulic cylinder to rotate the pallet. A Hirth coupling hydraulic clamping mechanism clamps the pallet in place without lifting for exceptional repeatability.
