CTV Vertical Turning Center with ATC (CAPTO)
The You Ji CTV Vertical Turning Center Series is a compact, high precision, heavy duty machine. The rigid vertical column and base are Meehanite castings, heavily ribbed for reduced thermal distortion and vibration dampening. It is designed for turning of medium size workpieces.
The X and Z axis linear roller guideways are completely enclosed and a forced lubrication system assures high precision (box ways optional). The high speed linear way system enables rapid traverse rates of 787 inches per minute. The precision class 3 ballscrews are driven directly by the servo motors, eliminating belts or gears for high precision. The optional Y axis moving column traverses on large hardened and ground box ways. The optional Y axis provides a total of nearly 18” of Y axis travel.
The spindle construction is a heavy duty design incorporating high precision double roller bearings and 45° angular contact thrust bearings. The spindle also is protected from coolant contamination. The NN type spindle bearings are used to endure high centrifugal loads and heavy spindle loads. The 30 HP high torque Fanuc “P” series double wound spindle motor coupled with the 2 speed ZF gear box provides more torque at a lower RPM than a Fanuc 50HP single with a 2 speed gear box and delivers power for heavy duty machining and high speed for fine finishing. The spindle produces nearly 3000 ft.lbs. of cutting torque for heavy cutting.
This vertical turning center is equipped with a box type machining center type headstock that provides excellent strength and rigidity. The standard arm type ATC stores 24 tools with the CAPTO C8 interface. The arm type ATC reduces tool change time to only 6 seconds and increases tool capacity utilizing the rigid dual contact CAPTO connection. The optional contouring C-axis and live spindle provide simultaneous milling capability. When coupled with the optional Y axis, the machine becomes a true 3 axis machining center. The live spindle features a solid locking 3 piece coupling for turning operations.
Chip control is excellent as chips and coolant wash directly into the standard chip conveyor. An optional chip wash system forces any chips from the machining area into the conveyor. This versatile VTL is designed for stand alone applications or is easily integrated into an automated production line.
