Going to Westec 2021? Don’t Miss These Booths Demonstrating Automation and IIoT Together
Two of Absolute’s partners, Productive Robotics and Scytec Consulting, will be exhibiting together in Scytec’s booth Booth #1617 at Westec 2021 in Long Beach, California, on November 16-18, 2021.
Increasing Equipment Effectiveness with IIoT Technology
Scytec will be demonstrating their machine monitoring at Westec 2021 using live data extracted from an OB7 collaborative robot from Productive Robotics. Scytec DataXchange is a Cloud and On-Premise OEE and analytic manufacturing machine monitoring system. DataXchange increases overall equipment effectiveness, utilization, and shop floor productivity (i.e., parts counts and machine uptime/downtime) through the use of IIoT technology. Their systems report data over a wired or wireless Ethernet connection from MTConnect Fanuc FOCAS and OPC UA based machines. DataXchange can also collect automatically from older and manual machines using an SRC, a low cost hardware module.
It’s one thing to know what the machines are doing, but it’s another to categorize the data based on your definition of what the machines are doing. For example, is the machine in cycle during automatic tool changes, program and optional stops, or feed hold? How about when it’s running, but with the feed rate override at 80% or during warmup cycles? The power of DataXchange allows you to make these types of decisions to meet your specific OEE monitoring needs, trigger notifications, increase shop-floor utilization, decrease downtime, along with so much more.
The DataXchange Operator Data Interface Screen provides an easy to use interface that runs on PCs and tablets to categorize planned and unplanned downtimes, update dashboards as well as triggering and sending email and text notifications to keep everyone updated on the status of the machines.
Bridge Employment Gaps with a Collaborative Robot
Productive Robotics designs and manufactures a new generation of simple-to-use collaborative robots. The OB7 family of cobots leaps beyond all others with its patent pending “teach without programming” platform. Zero programming eliminates operational complexity resulting application flexibility, efficient integration, broad user confidence, and short ROI.
The number one complaint amongst manufacturers today is talent acquisition and retention. OB7 can fill employment gaps and allow companies to utilize the talent they already have.
