A Look Back At 2016 With Absolute Machine Tools
2016 was a big year at Absolute Machine Tools! As we get ready to begin 2017, we thought we’d take a look back at some of the highlights of the year, from new machines to awards, to the biggest show of the industry.
Award-winning Machines: The team at Absolute Machine Tools was thrilled to start the year off with a bang with 3 of our machine tools receiving honors at the 2016 Taiwan Excellence Awards. The Tongtai FV-236 Machining Center and Tongtai SH-4000P Horizontal Machining Center with Pallet Changer won the 2016 Taiwan Excellence Gold and Silver Award, which honors the most innovative and value-added products in the machine tool industry. The AccuteX AL-400SA Wire EDM was also honored with the Taiwan Excellence Award.
Acquiring MTT-21: In March, Absolute Machine Tools announced an agreement to acquire Machine Tool Technology – 21 (MTT-21), a well-known Chicago area CNC machine tool distributor. The acquisition allowed Absolute to further cement its commitment to manufacturers in Illinois and Wisconsin while enhancing our applications engineering, service and customer support.
You Ji DSM Series: We were excited to add the You Ji DSM Series to our machine line-up this year. This duplex (or double-sided) milling machine was designed specifically for production squaring and chamfering of square and rectangular blocks. The DSM Series is designed to meet a diverse range of machining needs, allowing end users to machine block sizes from .780” x .780” to 47” x 47” with work piece thicknesses from 150 mm to 400 mm.
Tongtai iTD-2000YBC: We were excited to debut this brand new CNC turning center at our IMTS booth in September. The high precision high production machine offers a sub-spindle, live tools and Y-Axis on a 75° slant bed. The Y-Axis was designed perpendicular to the X-Axis like a vertical machining center, making programming of the Y-Axis simpler for the operator.
IMTS: Speaking of IMTS, we’re happy to say it was a big success! This year was the 31st edition of the bi-annual Chicago show, with more than 2,407 exhibiting companies. Absolute Machine Tools truly appreciated the support from our customers, partners and all those in attendance!
We’re looking forward to big things in 2017, including the upcoming PMTS show in Columbus! As always, we make it our goal every year to offer our customers the best machines and service in the industry. We hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and hope that 2017 will be a great year for all!
