Breaking Down the Anatomy of the OB7 Cobot

Let’s breakdown the anatomy of the OB7 cobot to learn how it works — and how it can work for you:

Independent 7- Axis Robot Arm

We’ll start with the independent 7-axis Robot Arm. The OB7’s J3 joint allows the cobot to reach around objects, easily maneuvering in confined spaces and around human coworkers. This ability sets OB7 apart from all other cobots in the marketplace today.

Control Tablet

The OB7’s durable control tablet uses a simple, “drag and drop” tiles interface that allows operators to quickly input job functions with no coding. You can save, name, and recall stored automation jobs, as well as create custom job functions for repetitive tasks.

PRI Gripper

The versatile PRI Parallel Electric Gripper is ideal for hundreds of production applications. The OB7 os compatible with most grippers and end of arm tooling attachments; the gripping force, speed and opening position can be set automatically or manually.

Control Computer

The OB7’s IP 30 control computer controls all of OB7 axis joints and components. All the network ports into OB7 are locked to prevent unauthorized access.

Uninterruptible Power Supply

Not an isolation transformer, but rather a power line conditioner with a 15 minute back-up power supply that enables the OB7 to move from work cell to work cell without having to power down.

Rolling Stand

The OB7 Cobot’s rolling stand features industrial quality construction with integrated casters and adjustable feet, control computer mount, UPS mount and protective cabling cover.

Assembly Table

The Assembly Table mounts securely to the OB7 Rolling Stand to provide a universal work surface for fast & convenient work fixture placement, as well as quick change-overs for different jobs. It’s made from 6061-T6 anodized aluminum and features an integrated grid of work fixture positioning and pin registration holes.

Safety Laser (Lidar) Scanner (Optional)

The Laser Scanner has a 270° detection range, maintaining a 5 m protection zone with 20 m warning zone to prevent collisions.
