The Future Looks Bright for Lights-Out Moldmaking
Absolute Machine Tools President Steve Ortner was recently featured in an article on AdvancedManufacturing.org discussing the evolution of untended, or “lights out,” machining in mold shops.
Once unthinkable, today the practice is critical to success.
“Almost everyone is doing it to some extent,” Ortner says in the article. “Whether running a job for just a couple hours after they leave the shop or all night, they implement untended machining to be competitive.”
