The GVN12C/4-800 is capable of handling gun drilling of gun barrels for all small arms weapon calibers up to 32’’ in length. Here are some of its improved features and their benefits:

  • Variable counter rotation speed (250-700 RPM) to improve output parameters: The ability to change counter rotation speeds helps to keep the drill in the center thereby improving TIR achieved during gun drilling.
  • Automatic part length adjustment setting from HMI: This improves setup change times by allowing the operator to set part length automatically on the screen, rather than having to turn the lead screw manually.
  • Enhanced tool breakage monitoring system: Incorporating a current based sensing technology helps prevent gun drill breakage when the current exceeds a threshold.
  • Four tool supports (previous version had three): This improves output results for better straightness when gun drilling small calibers like 223 and 5.56.
  • Improvements in guarding for sliding doors: The use of LM guides makes the doors function smoothly. This is important when working with robots especially.
  • Better heat ventilation in electrical panel: Reduces heat generation in the electrical panel to help improve life of sensitive electronics.
  • Improved user interface: Offers simpler and much better designed custom screens showing critical data to operators.
  • Mobile Screen features: This gives operators the ability to monitor HMI screens remotely on a computer or mobile device in the same Wifi network, so you don’t need to be on the machine to see whats going on. This comes in very handy when machine is being operated in auto mode by a robot.
  • Alarm troubleshooting guide through HMI: This guide gives suggestions when the machines encounters alarms and suggests further course of action, which improves uptime of the machine and reduces need for a service engineer to visit
