Tongtai’s newest MT Series Lathes were developed for improving cycle times and turning processes for the automotive industry where small parts are typically made within 60 seconds. After many years of working together on customizing machines and turnkey projects with automotive customers worldwide, Tongtai developed the MT series CNC Lathes for precision turning, high production volume, automatic production, and insertion into mass-production lines.

The NEW FV Series vertical machining centers by Tongtai (former OEM for Hitachi-Seiki, Japan) are built in both single-spindle and twin-spindle head designs for mass production lines of complicated work pieces and is also suitable for automatic production with the integration of a robot on either a floor-type motion axis rail system or overhead gantry.  The fixed twin spindle type is able to process two individual machining tasks simultaneously.  With the addition of an A-axis trunnion table, the FV series instantly becomes a horizontal machining center, giving you two machines in one and saving on floor space and additional machinery costs.

The new AccuteX EDM AU-1440iA Z-800 Submerged Wire EDM is engineered to process large as well as smaller parts with accuracy, speed and convenience. The machine’s X axis capacity of 55.11″ with 31.49″ in Y and Z enable it to handle workpieces up to 68.5″ x 42.5″ x 31.29″ in size.

This high production, heavy-duty vertical turning center with reliable spindle uptime is ideal for automotive production environments. The rigid vertical column and base are Meehanite castings, heavily ribbed for reduced thermal distortion and vibration dampening. It is designed for rugged to fine finish turning of medium to large components. The machine’s maximum turning diameter capacity is 27.5”…

The Q5 features a 6,000 rpm (optional 8,000 rpm), 7.5 hp (5.6 kW) spindle motor and offers a rapid traverse rate of 1,181 IPM. The compact CNC lathe has a 5’ x 6’ 3” (1,490 mm x 1870 mm) footprint, and with straightforward gang tooling and no subspindle it is equipped for speed. Tool capacity, depending on the workpiece being processed, is 4-6 ID or OD tools.

The new Tongtai HS-22 CNC turning center offers a swing over bed diameter and standard turning diameter of 8.66 inches. Maximum cross travel is 6.1 inches (X-axis) and maximum longitudinal travel is 8.66 inches (Z-axis). Maximum turning length is 7.87 inches. Noteworthy design and construction features of the HS-22 include precision box ways and large servo motors that provide a rigid and compact structure resulting in accurate positioning.

The GVN series of single-axis gundrilling equipment includes machines with one to four spindles that can apply drills from 2 mm (0.07’’) to 25 mm (1’’) in diameter to produce holes at depths of 400 mm – 1000 mm (16” – 40”). The largest versions can handle components up to 125 mm (5”) OD and as weighing as much as 50 kg (110 lbs). Feed rates extend from 0-1,000 mm/min (0-40”/min)…

IMTS visitors can watch and learn more about how a die sinker EDM, a machining center, and a robot can be integrated into an automated machining cell. At IMTS in Absolute Machine Tools booth E-5225, which is displaying the AccuteX brand of wire and sinker EDMs, the cell will be producing multiple cavity and core components for the mold and die industry.

The Nexturn SA32XII Swiss lathe is a new 32mm machine that is available with or without a rotary synchronous guide bushing, and can be seen in action at IMTS 2014 in Absolute Machine Tool’s booth S-8536.  It features up to 9 total axes (Z1, X1, Y1, Z2, X2, Y2, C1, C2, and optional B) and up to 33 total tools with the B axis (29 without).
