Accutex DS-ZNC CNC EDM Die Sinker Series – Advanced Manually Controlled EDM with Automated Z-Axis
The DS-ZNC EDM die sinker series combines manual control over the X and Y-axes with an automatically controlled Z-axis. This affordable series is simpler to use and perfect for making smaller less complex parts. The X and Y-axes are manually adjusted which requires an operator to position the workpiece and fine-tune the location of the cut.
Labor is more intensive on ZNC models; however, these are an affordable than full-on CNC solutions. The Z-axis is numerically controlled, allowing for repeatability with accurate cavity depths, reducing the possibility of human error. A ZNC series manages sparking including the controlled descent of the electrode into the workpiece. Both copper and graphite electrodes can be used to create a discharge spark to erode material.
AccuteX DS-X-2H CNC Twin-Head EDM Die Sinker Series – Two Can Be Better Than One
The Accutex DS-X-2H EDM twin-head die sinker series offers both simultaneous and independent machining with two heads working in parallel. Both twin heads can machine simultaneously cutting two different areas of a workpiece or two separate workpieces. Simultaneous mirror imaging machining on two separate workpieces saves time, doubles throughput and reduces floor space by using one machine rather than two machines side-by-side.
During independent operations, each head can be programmed individually offering more flexibility by allowing different machining processes on each workpiece without the risk of collision. High accuracy and steady consistency is achieved when both heads are working in tandem resulting in uniform and repeatable results. This is especially attractive in industries such as aerospace, medical and mold making.
Other benefits of two heads includes the need to reposition or re-fixture parts minimizing the possibility of errors, reducing labor costs and cycle times, all the while increasing overall efficiency, ROI and profits. Each head on the DS-X-2H series employs its own independent Z-axis, power supply, and controlled generator allowing for various machining parameters on each head doubling production.
The DS-X-2H head series can also be ordered in a single head design for longer workpieces such as multi-cavity molds or for parts that require a long cycle time.

GUi – Graphical User Interface

Our new Conversational Interface with Icon driven programming and cutting condition selection make the DS-X an excellent tool for high level mold making at any stage, along with managing multiple cavity molds with multiple varying electrodes through roughing and finishing cycles.
EtherCAT Servo System
IEtherCAT is the latest and greatest way to control machine tool drive motion. The integration of EtherCAT communications between all machine electronics allows for better machine monitoring conditions and information sharing. EtherCAT offers exceptional performance, flexibility through multiple connections to servo drives, integrated safety features for network architecture, simple and robust integration, and reduces the cost of hardware and repair. EtherCat also makes integration of automation systems simple and cost effective. When connected to the internet, the Remote Access Applications and Service Tool allows for the support team at Absolute Machine Tools to train and troubleshoot remotely, saving customers time and money.
Parametric AI System
The Accutex EDM DS-X Series was also designed with a parametric Al system, which allows an operator to make changes in real-time. The parametric Al system receives data and feedback from the monitoring process during operations from variables such as instant sparking conditions, machine diagnostics, cutting characteristics, and quality analyzation to optimize maximum efficiency and provide the operator freedom to adjust on the fly.
Jump Speed
The AC Servo Motors on X,Y, and Z have been dramatically improved and redesigned for Jump Up/ Down speeds from 0.7 Meters/Min. to 5.0 Meters/Min. for increased machining efficiency and reduced cycle times. APC (Adaptable Parameter Control) and DC Arc Protection from start to finish have been dramatically enhanced through real-time gap condition monitoring. This capability is invaluable for safe, reliable, untended EDM machining.
Automatic Drop Door and Programmable Oil Levels
Automatic Drop Door and Programmable Oil Leve provides faster filling time and ergonomic operation. When processing medium to large size molds and workpieces, the filling time of the dielectric fluid can take away from what the machines were built for, EDM machining. With the fast fill/ fast draining function combined with the ability to pre-program the oil level in the work tank, operators spend less time waiting.
