Hole finishing is essential for ensuring barrel or shaft straightness and accuracy. Precihole offers several solutions for deep hole finishing such as honing, reaming, lapping, and skiving and burnishing. Precihole offers two types of honing machines: vertical and horizontal.
These deep hole finishing machines are used to improve the geometric form of a bore or the surface of a workpiece. Reaming machines are used to remove all irregularities in a hole by improving surface finish and preparing a hole for such processes as rifling. Skiving and burnishing is a two-part process that removes stock with skiving knives, then cold rolls the surface to achieve the highest surface finish tolerances. The process of skiving and roller burnishing is typically more widely used for hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders.
