TheYou Ji VTS Series vertical fixed-rail turning lathes are engineered for high-precision, tight-tolerance machining of large components requiring fine surface finishes. Built on a heavily ribbed Meehanite cast iron base, these machines offer exceptional rigidity, thermal stability, and vibration damping ensuring dimensional accuracy during heavy cuts.

Designed for large-diameter parts, the VTS tables support massive swing capacities. Spindle power ranges from 50 to 100 HP, delivering the torque needed for both roughing and finishing operations, especially in hard materials like bearing steels and aerospace alloys. Key features include box way construction, hand-scraped contact surfaces with Turcite B, class 3 ballscrews directly driven by servo motors for minimal backlash, and tooling options such as CAPTO C6 or BT-50—ideal for OD/ID turning, grooving, and profiling. An optional C-axis enables live tooling and complex interpolation.

Larger models offer an optional twin-ram configuration for simultaneous roughing and finishing or balanced cutting on opposing sides, significantly boosting throughput and reducing cycle times.
